1. Prepare the dmc threads, cross stitch pattern, aida cloth, beads and needles.
2. Cross stitch the design into the aida cloth.

3. Backstitching.

4. Add beads.

Holiday Decor Item

Hello! I am so excited to share to you these projects holiday decor item I made for Moxie Fab World: Decor to Make the Season Bright Challenge.

First, I looked for my cross-stitch magazines "Cross Country Stitching" and found this project! So I started preparing my materials: 2 6x6 14 counts red aida cloth, 2 6x6 white cloth for backing, cotton balls, gold thread DMC for this I used dmc #3855, and #310 and a cross-stitch needle by John James Tapestry Petites and 2 metal or tin plates.

1. Cross stitch the design into the cloth using 2 strands of dmc.
2. Sew the project into the white cloth (see the picture above) and fill it with cotton balls.
3. Secret sew the remaining opening.
4. Attach the project to metal or tin plates with heavy double sided tape. The stitching can be changed seasonally. If you would like it to be permanent, glue it into place.

Combine these charming ornaments stitched for your Christmas tree or as delightful accents in your warm-hearted home.

Live Within Your Harvest

Four seasons of fun learning to live within our harvest! Berry is for spring, flower for summer, pumpkin for the fall and get ready to stay indoors with quilt for the winter.

I made this project: Seasonal Sampler for Hero Arts Blog: Everything Autumn! Harvest, Halloween and Thanksgiving.

For the berry, I used HA CL410: You're The Best for the little girl,
HA CL320: Designer Fruit for the berries,
HA CL264: Precious Baby Boy for the hedgehog,
HA CL439: Kiss From the Sun for the birdhouse
and colour them using faber-castell watercolor pencils.

For the flower, I used HA CL410: You're The Best for the little girl and flowers,
HA CL439: Kiss From the Sun for the branch she's holding and
HA CL264: Precious Baby Boy for the hedgehog
and colour them using faber-castell watercolor pencils.

For the pumpkin, I used HA CL410: You're The Best for the little girl,

HA CL264: Precious Baby Boy for the hedgehog and
I draw the pumpkin and colour them using faber-castell watercolor pencils.

For the quilt, I used HA CL410: You're The Best for the little girl,
HA CL397: Sew Original 2x3 for the thread,
HA CL264: Precious Baby Boy for the hedgehog and
HA CL416: What's Perking for the quilt she is holding :)
and colour them using faber-castell watercolor pencils.



Other stamps used to this project: HA CL372: Oceans of Joy for the little blue circles.

SCENTED SHELLS

As sea shells are generally associated with water, the ideal place to display a collection is in the batchroom. Add a further pleasing dimension to their colour and form by making them fragrant.

YOU WILL NEED:

Collection of sea shells
Dish-washing liquid
Bleach
Towel
1 vanilla pod (bean)
Small cuttlefish bone
Lemon, bay and rosemary essential oils
Plastic ice-cream container with tight-fitting lid
Small box or bowl

1. Scrub and wash the shell carefully in soapy water to which a little bleach has been added, and set aside to dry on a towel.

2. Moisten a cuttlefish bone with 25 drops of lemon, 15 drops of bay and 5 drops of rosemary essential oils. Place a bruised vanilla pod and the cuttlefish bone into a plastic ice-cream container. Add the shells, seal down the lid and leave for 4 weeks. Remove half the shells and arrange in a small box or bowl for display. After a few weeks or whenever the shells lose their fragrance, replace with the other shells left in the container. Do this on a regular basis, and occasionally refresh the cuttlefish bone with a few drops of the essential oils.
